WASHINGTON: A Punjabi association in the US has asked the Indian government to provide e-visa facility at Amritsar airport.

“Amritsar airport has the same importance as other nine airports and E-visa for Amritsar will promote the Punjab economy,” Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), said in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Currently the recently launched e-visa facility is available at nine Indian airports — Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.
