Representatives of the Sikh Talmel Committee address the media in Jalandhar on Monday

Jalandhar : The Sikh Talmel Committee today urged people to vote against the SAD-BJP alliance.

The committee includes Prof Manjit Singh, former Jathedar, Akal Takht Sahib; Hardeep Singh, SGPC member from Mohali;and Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director, North American Punjabi Association (NAPA).

In a press conference, they appealed to voters to shed party politics to defeat the SAD-BJP combine and vote winnable candidates with a clean and honest image. Members of the committee have also prepared a list of such candidates.

HS Phoolka, Ramanjit Singh Sikki, Sukhpal Singh Khehra, Kharar Kanwar Sandhu, Capt Amarinder Singh, Pargat Singh, Sunil Jakhar, Simarjit Singh Bains, Balwinder Singh Bains, Lalli Majithia, Manjot Singh Sidhu and Jagjot Singh are included in the list.

They said: “The opposition should also include good persons in the new government. Our organisations have come together to support good candidates, rising above party considerations.”

The committee also urged people to vote the winnable candidates instead of dividing their votes in Lambi and Jalalabad to defeat the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.

They have also prepared a list of candidates, whom they want to be defeated badly as they indulged in anti-Sikh activities. The list includes Sikandar Singh Maluka, Tota Singh and his son Barjinder Singh.
